LITHO STONE

This week I completely finished the stone boards I had made last term and spent a few days trying out different colours and how the collage would look. After the stone had been left for the winter holidays the inks were in very good condition and could be printed directly on dry paper.
A tip: when creating future work it is important to remember that the collage is cut in the opposite direction to what is seen. Some of the one-sided paper was wasted in this creation, but it also yielded many unimagined results.

WIP show opening

The A4 work I completed last week – Opposite of a Blue Butterfly. Because I wanted to heal in an artistic way, I used a pharmaceutical intervention in this orange piece

Etching–Hard ground

There were not many people at the etching this Friday and I finished the board I had left earlier and a new hard ground very efficiently.
They are a rain-soaked butterfly and a pinned butterfly with some of my personal experiences in the wings.
The similarity is that their wings are both wet, one by the rain and the other by the injection of moisture. The difference is that the rain-soaked wings will still be able to fly when they dry, whereas the pinned butterfly’s wings will be fixed in that shape forever when they dry.

A great exhibition for the eyes, and a chance encounter with Josh.
I was really happy to enjoy the art and have already started to plan a trip abroad with my friend to see the exhibition.
